Royal Challengers Bangalore have not had the best of tournaments so far and with the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers in the squad it is just a bit more than disappointing to see them languishing at the bottom of the table.

While the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings again did not go the way the Royals wanted but that doesn’t deter the young leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal from celebrating the most priced scalp in Indian ranks.

Chahal was the pick of the bowlers against Super Kings as he returned with figures of 3 for 40 but the wickets he took will do a world of good to his confidence. Among McCullum, Raina and Dhoni it goes without saying that the third victim would have given him the most satisfaction.

Chahal didn’t hold back. “I enjoyed taking Dhoni bhai’s wicket,” the 24-year-old leggie said. “To get a batsman like him in the slog overs is huge. We know what he is capable of doing in those last few overs.”

Chahal was given the new ball and he didn’t disappoint as the leggie picked up the Kiwi skipper in his very first over.

“(Daniel) Vettori sir had told me beforehand that I will be bowling with the new ball,” he revealed. “It was our plan to stifle McCullum with spin early on. I was just trying to bowl accurately with a few subtle variations. I happened to bowl a slower wrong one and it got me McCullum’s wicket,” Chahal concluded with a smile.
