Maya Devi studied only till Class 8. Belonging to a lower class family, her father Vishwa Bandhu was a farmer. She had been longing to witness a day in her life when all her 3 kids would become IAS officers.
After a life full of struggles, she somehow managed to send her children to Delhi for higher studies. Today, she feels she is the happiest woman in the world. After the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared its results on Wednesday, she learnt her daughter Pooja and her son Lok Bandhu cleared the exam and her years long dream finally came true. Maya’s eldest daughter Kranti had already passed the UPSC exam and serving as a Deputy Commissioner in the Income Tax department in Mumbai.
Maya’s happiness have touched skies as she has witnessed something that every parent dreams to. She told reporters that she had thrived to see her children to become IAS officers, when her eldest daughter was studying in Class 5.
