Anil Galgali demands detailed list of students passed out in the year 1978 from Delhi University.
The Delhi University which produced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree pertaining to 1978, had replied RTI activist Anil Galgali in September 2015, that they did not possess records of more than four decades. The varsity also asked Galgali to approach the concerned degree colleges affiliated to the Delhi University for obtaining the list of students passed out in the year 1978. Galgali has now filed an appeal in this matter.
Galgali had filed a query with the Delhi University on 11th September 2015, seeking detailed list of students who had passed out in the year 1978. In a reply the Public Information Officer of Delhi University Jay Chandra informed RTI activist that, the Asst Controller of Examinations (Results) & IT Officer (Planning cell) have stated that the query pertains to records almost four decades old and hence department does not have the details. According to the Asst Controller of Examinations (Results) the copies of the examination results are sent by the examinations department to the respective colleges, hence for seeking the information the applicant may approach the respective colleges.
After the Delhi University made public the degree of the PM Narendra Modi, Galgali has alleged, “It has now become clear that the University had misled me in its reply, as the issue of Modi’s degree too pertained to year 1978. It has made the details public, means that the Delhi University has in its possession the details of all the students passed out in the year 1978.”
Galgali has now filed a 1st appeal in the Delhi University seeking the detailed list of all the passed out students of BA of the year 1978. Also in a letter addressed to Vice Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi and Registrar Tarun Raj has expressed surprise over the double standards of the University officials.
“Action must be taken against the officials who have misled me by not providing information. The University should provide me with the detailed list of students passed out in the year 1978,” said Galgali.
Even AAP has come forward to criticise the Delhi University and asked whether it had computers in 1978.
Highlighting the flaws in the graduation degree and marksheets of Modi, AAP leader Ashutosh said: “The name and marks of the candidate were printed in Modi’s marksheets released by the BJP. However in the documents of other candidate who passed out in 1978, the name and marks were handwritten.”
“Similarly, the university logo on Modi’s degree is printed in modern font while the original degrees had simple font. This clearly shows that the degree is fake,” he added.
“Delhi University is a prestigious university. They should be loyal to the constitution of the country, not to the leaders of the ruling party,” said another AAP leader, Dilip Pandey.
