He said that the Modi government is more concerned about safeguarding cows instead of working for the welfare of soldiers.

Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray launched a scathing attack against the Modi government for its inability to protect two jawans who have been beheaded by Pakistan. He said that the government is more concerned about safeguarding cows instead of working for the welfare of soldiers who are sacrificing their lives for the sake of the nation’s security. Uddhav also criticised the government’s demonetisation policy and said that it is not focussed about real issues affecting the nation. He asked the government to secure the nation first instead of concentrating on irrelevant issues. The entire nation has condemned the mutilation of two jawans by Pakistan forces and asked the government to teach a lesson to Pakistan.

“Instead of speaking about Mann Ki Baat the government should focus on Gun ki Baat for giving a befitting reply to Pakistan. Pakistan won’t learn from one surgical strike and it must be taught a lesson. At present the nation is undergoing turmoil as farmers are committing suicide due to rising debt burden while jawans are sacrificing their lives. The government doesn’t have any right to chant the slogan ‘Jai jawan jai kisan,” said Uddav.

“The BJP might have swept polls in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls but the manner in which jawans have been martyred can be considered as India’s defeat. The government must give a befitting reply to Pakistan as it won’t learn from one surgical strike. Merely condemning the mutilation incident is not enough as the government must take stringent action against Pakistan. A tiny nation like Pakistan is slaying the self-respect of India,” he added.

“The new Defence minister (Arun Jaitley) says sacrifice of soldiers will not go waste. But we have to unfortunately tell him that sacrifices are being wasted. A win in Uttar Pradesh may be a big win for you. But the manner in which jawans are being killed is a loss of the nation. In the last one year, thousands of soldiers have been martyred even without a war. Are people, who feel cow slaughter is a sin, fine with killing of soldiers? The Prime Minister should clarify how many nations stand by India against Pakistan,” he said.

Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut also hit out at the BJP government and that he has heard ‘sacrifice won’t go in vain’ 100 times and ‘Pakistan will be given reply’ 10,000 times but no answer has been given yet and the sacrifice of jawans is being wasted.
