Kullo Yawmin Ashura, Kullo Arzin Karbala (Every day is Ashura, every land is Karbala), when the word Ashura (10th Day of Muharram) and Karbala (a Holy city in Iraq) comes together in mind, eyes starts shedding tears repeatedly, at least for some community. Today is Ashura but I’m not in Karbala, then also my eyes are shedding tears. Many of my friends, who know me well, throw questions like why you celebrate this day, why you people shed tears? etc etc. It is too long a story but in brief I reply, it is a day when Holy Prophet’s grandson Imam Hussain (A.S) along with 71 others accepted the martyrdom at Karbala.
Imam Hussain (A.S) stood up against terrorism. A terrorism which was started by then Shaam’s (Syria) King Yazeed. Yazeed wanted that he should be accepted as King after his father’s death. Nevertheless, he was unjust and was terrorising people. Imam Hussain (A.S) never accepted him as a King, so, Yazeed sent his strong army of nine lakh personnels to kill 72 people. These 72 people includes six months old Ali Asgar (Imam Hussain (A.S)’s son) and 80 year old Habib son of Mazahir, Imam Hussain’s friend. Muslims are simply tagged as terrorists but even Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Mustafa’s (SAWW) grandson was victim of this terrorism. His martyrdom teaches a lesson to humanity that never ever support terrorists and terrorism and never ever support injustice. Today, not only Muslims, but whole humanity supports him and takes lesson with the incidence of Karbala.
Today, you will see procession on the streets all over the world. These processions are in the memory of the supreme martyr and tribute to him. However, in recent times, processions have been targeted by the terror groups in many countries, because they want to stop the messages which these processions carried about peace and humanity. On October 28, a nine-month-old girl lost her life while eight others, including six women, were injured when a hand grenade was lobbed at the Islamic Research Centre (IRC) at Ayesha Manzil, Karachi during the procession. Processions in Pakistan are a prime target. After Pakistan, it is Syria, Afganistan and now Iraq on the target. If you see the countries’ name I mention, you will see where terrorism are on its peak. Presently, ISIS is active in Syria and Iraq. Al-Qaeda, Taliban are active in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Thank God we are safe due to the vigilant Indian Intelligence. However, we should be more vigilant as we have seen Talibani thinking budding in India. Sorry to say it is budding but it’s already there but they fear the Indian law. To prove my words, let me remind you the incident of ISIS flag, we have seen in Kashmir and Tamil Nadu. Indian Government should try to stop these movements by being more vigilant on people coming from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Middle East etc. Huge cash flowing from these countries may lure our country men towards terror activities. Import of terrorism will stop if our country men stop supporting them. So, we have to find out supporters, who are lured in the name of ‘Heaven’ and quality life here and hereafter. Once again, I repeat that Islam never support terrorism and those who are killing ‘innocent’ people are killing them for their vested interest.
As our Prime Minister said, Indian Muslims are patriotic towards the nation. Yes, they are. Seek help of these people to curb terrorism from the country. They can provide good intelligence to keep the nation safe.
