Last rites of Lt Colonel Sankalp Kumar, who was killed while fighting terrorists in Kashmir, were performed in Jharkhand with complete military honours on Sunday.
He was also accorded guard of honour by the military.
Kumar laid down his life while fighting terrorists who had stormed the Uri camp in Kashmir from across the border.
The attack took place three days after second phase of voting in Jammu and Kashmir. At least 11 security personnel were killed in the attack including a lieutenant colonel and two civilians in Tral.
The attacks and gunbattles with security forces which in all left 21 people dead also included a top commander of Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba and seven militants.
