Xiaomi Mi Max launched in India at Rs 14,999

Xiaomi introduced the Mi Max phablet in India today. The device starts from Rs 14,999 for the 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM and Snapdragon 650 processor variant while the second variant will be priced at Rs 19,999 and will include 128GB internal storage, 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 652 processor. It will be available starting July 6 via flash sale exclusively via Mi.com/in. The company will hold an open sale for the Max on July 13 across its other online channels. The company also announced that the MIUI beta update will be released on July 11 while the stable OTA will be released starting from August 16.

In terms of specifications, the device comes with a 6.44-inch Full HD display with a 1080×1920 pixel resolution. It is available in two variants namely, a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage model while the second model sports 4GB RAM with 128GB of storage and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor. The Mi Max runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will soon receive MIUI 8.

It comes equipped with a 16MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. Connectivity features include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS with Glonass, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. There is also a hybrid SIM slot via which users can opt for a microSD card slot instead of the second SIM. A 4850mAh battery completes the package. The smartphone will available in silver, gold and dark grey color variants.
