Intelligence Bureau (IB) has issued an alert to Ministry of Home Affairs about a possible infiltration bid and terror attack by the banned militant outfits Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen in Samba and Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, reports claimed on Monday.

According to reports, the IB has told MHA that the militant outfits are planning to carry out a ‘Fidayeen’ attack in the region.

The IB has issued the alert at a time when two guerrillas attacked an Army camp in Samba and were later gunned down by the security forces.

The brigade commander of the area, Brigadier BS Rana, had told mediapersons that two terrorists wearing paramilitary fatigues lobbed grenades and fired from automatic weapons at the camp of the 82 Field Armoured Regiment in Samba district early on Saturday morning.

“The alert guards at the camp retaliated promptly, thereby thwarting the terrorists’ attempt to enter the camp. Both the terrorists have been gunned down. Firing has stopped, but a search operation is still going on in the area,” Brigadier Rana as quoted.
