A 35-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, following which the accused has been arrested, police said on Monday.
The accused Chandu Tambada (38), was addicted to drinking. He used to come home in an inebriated state and beat his wife Radibai on several occasions, Talasari police station ASI D V Dodvise said.
On Sunday, Radibai was beaten up by the accused with a beer bottle, after which she died on the spot, he said.
Following a complaint by the victim’s brother, the accused was apprehended last night, Dodvise said.
A case under section 302 (murder) of IPC has been registered and investigations are underway, the officer said.
