The ill-fated Malaysia Airlines MH 17 plane was hit by numerous high-energy objects that “pierced the plane at high speed”, according to a preliminary report released by Dutch experts on Tuesday.

The report further states that there was no human or technical error behind the incident.

The experts had gathered evidence from black box, satellite images and photos to record the findings in the initial report.

It states that the cockpit voice recorder the flight data recorder and data from air traffic control suggest that that all activities in the flight were normal until it ended abruptly.

The wreckage suggests that the plane had “split into pieces” during flight, it stated.

Reports had earlier claimed that the plane flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down by pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukrainian on July 17.

All 298 people on board were killed in the incident including 193 Dutch citizens.

The investigators were unable to visit the crash site in Donetsk due to fighting between the pro-Russian rebels and Ukraine.

While the West has blamed pro-Russian rebels for shooting down the plane with weapons supplied by Russia, Moscow has denied the allegations.
