Former Ferrari Boss Jean Todt, who visited Michael Schumacher at his Swiss mansion, said the Formula One champion was making progress and could soon be back to normal. The 45-year-old Schumacher was hospitalized with severe head injuries after his December 29 ski accident, which split his helmet as he crashed into rocks on the slope at the Meribel ski resort in the French Alps. He is continuing his long phase of rehabilitation at his Swiss mansion.

According to a report on dailyrecord.co.uk, Todt said, “We must assume that Schumacher can lead a relatively normal life again within a short period of time. We can say he can probably never drive a Formula 1 car again. But he is fighting. His condition improved, and what is just as important is the fact that he is now at home with his family.”

At a time when the world of Formula One is praying hard for the recovery of another racer, Jules Bianchi, the positive piece of information regarding Schumacher’s recovery comes as a welcome boost. Jules Bianchi suffered a horrific crash in the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka last weekend and is in the hospital.
