MNS corporator’s husband dies of suspected dengue in Nashik

Husband of a MNS corporator died of suspected dengue, family sources said on Friday.

46-year-old Sanjay Jadhav, husband of Archana Jadhav, passed away last night on his way to a private hospital near Panchavati, they said.

Sanjay was suffering from cold and fever for quite some time. He was admitted to the ICU at Rishikesh hospital since November 11, from where he was being shifted after his condition worsened following dipping platelet count, when he died, Chief Medical Officer of Rishikesh Hospital, Dr. Kishore Bafna said.

According to Bafna, Sanjay’s symptoms indicated towards dengue but his reports are still awaited only after which the disease can be confirmed.
Sanjay’s blood samples have been sent for testing, he said.

His last rites were held this morning in the presence of Mayor Ashok Murtadak, Deputy Mayor Gurumitsingh Bagga, MNS corporators, officials of Nashik Municipal Corporation and family members.

Mumbai has been the worst-affected in Maharashtra with 12 deaths and 696 confirmed cases of dengue in 2014 followed by Chandrapur (676 cases) and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (377 cases).
