Oil Ministry mulling proposal to hike LPG prices by Rs. 250 per cylinder

LPGThe Oil Ministry will move the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) for raising kerosene and LPG prices as recommended by an expert committee.

According to the reports, the Oil Ministry would take the Kirit Parikh panel recommendation for raising kerosene prices by Rs. 4-5 per litre and LPG by Rs. 250 per cylinder to CCPA.

The reports said the Oil Ministry would propose to CCPA that diesel price hikes of 40-50 paisa a litre per month may be continued.

State-run oil marketing companies on Wednesday increased prices of non-subsidised cooking gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs 16.50 per cylinder and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) or jet fuel by over half a percent as global crude prices surged on the back of Iraq crisis.
