SEAL-Rob-US Navy SEAL commando Rob O’Neill who claimed to have fired the final shot that killed Osama bin Laden says the al Qaeda kingpin ‘died afraid’.
In an exclusive audio interview with an ex-CNN correspondent Alex Quade, Rob O’Neill also said that he does not care if people do not believe that he was the one who killed Osama.

“The most important thing that I’ve learned in the last two years is to me it doesn’t matter anymore if I am ‘The Shooter.’ The team got him,” Robert O’Neill said in an audio interview that was aired on Friday on CNN’s “AC360.”

Talking about the controversy associated with his claim, Rob said he does not give a damn about the “negativity” that come along with him going public.

Rob O’ Neill also recounted the feelings of the Navy SEAL Team Six members before going on the mission to kill Osama, saying how the Navy commandos talked about September 11, 2001 to pump themselves up for such a dangerous task.

“Well, you have to go pump yourself up to go die. So we would talk about this (9/11 attacks),” the CNN quoted him as saying in the interview.

Describing the thoughts in the minds of his teammates, Rob said many including him thought they would not come alive out of the Abbottabad mission, however they were “not afraid”.

Earlier, Rob in an interview to the Washington Post claimed he was the one who shot the final bullet into Osama’s head making him fall with a thud on the floor “with a split skull”.

Rob had also made some details of the mission public way earlier, when talking to the Esquire magazine, but is identity was under wraps till then.

Recently, one of the first reports to make public his identity as the Navy SEAL who killed Osama, the Daily Mail website, MailOnline, managed to do an exclusive interview with Rob O’Neill’s father Tom O’Neill, who said how he and his son were not afraid of being targeted by the barbaric extremist group ISIS.

In fact, the heroic Navy SEAL’s father went on to dare the ISIS to “come and get us”, the MailOnline quoted his father as saying.

The report describes Rob O’Neill as a highly-decorated veteran who undertook almost 400 combat missions and quit after 16 years service. The heroic actions of the 38-year-old have been portrayed on-screen in movies as Zero Dark Thirty, Captain Phillips and Lone Survivor.

The Twitter account of Rob O’Neill describes him as a (motivational) speaker.

The issue of making public the details of Osama raid operation stirred a hornet’s nest in the ranks of Naval Special Warfare Development Group and Pentagon and prompted a US Admiral to shoot off a letter to the Navy SEALS, telling them to remain tight-lipped about the details of the operation that killed Osama.

In the letter, Admiral Brian Losey, the head of Naval Warfare Special Command, cautioned his “teammates” to maintain secrecy over the confidential Osama mission, telling them directly to quit talking about the raid.

“We do not abide willful or selfish disregard for our core values in return for public notoriety or financial gain,” the letter reads.
