Senior Supreme Court advocate and Aam Aadmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan say he does not agree with his father and former law minister of India Shanti Bhushan’s comments praising Bharatiya Janata Party Delhi CM candidate Kiran Bedi.

“I do not agree with Shanti Bhushan’s view about Kiran Bedi. She was always against joining politics,” Prashant pointed out while reacting to his father’s praising the BJP decision to rope in Kiran Bedi, India’s first woman IPS officer, for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

Prashant Bhushan added that that he was not able to campaign for his party as he was busy in the court.

Shanti Bhushan had said that it was a masterstroke by the BJP to field Kiran Bedi and that the former IPS officer would prove to be a good chief minister.

Not talking about the BJP in particular, Shanti Bhushan said, “Whether it be the AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal or BJP CM candidate Kiran Bedi, Delhi would get a good chief minister in the end as neither of Anna Hazare’s disciples were corrupt.”

“Anna Hazare should be happy for either one becoming chief minister as both were crusaders against corruption,” he had further said.

Also in the capital the Delhi Bar Association held protests against Kiran Bedi being made BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate over an incident that happened 26 years ago.

Voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will take place on February 7 and counting is on February 10.
