Farmers suffered in the last decade and it is time to identify their problems and solve it without wasting time. They are the backbone of this country and so many deaths in a single state ring the alarm bells to act swiftly. Just like doctors camping an earthquake and flood hit areas the bankers should camp in the famine affected areas in helping out farmers in technical know -how of modern agriculture and part with funds to make them feel comfortable. Major share of Prime Minister’s Rs.25000 crores aid should reach the farmers of Maharashtra and other famine hit states at the earliest to arrest such suicides. It is time to call an emergency meeting to solve this sensitive issue. Nationalisation of rivers could have solved the irrigation problem in these barren lands. The waiver allowed to farmers should be passed on to all of them hailing from debt ridden areas also at the earliest to curb farmers’ suicides. PMs promises should not go just by words but should reach them immediately.
