Cheteshwar Pujara on Sunday registered his name in record book of Indian cricket as he become only the 4th Indian opener to carry his bat through the innings.

Pujara opened the innings with KL Rahul in the 3rd Test against Sri Lanka and remained unbeaten on 145.

Before the Saurashtra batsmen, only three others have achieved this feat.

Sunil Gavaskar was the first batsman to do so with an unbeaten 127 in the 2nd innings of the 3rd Test against Pakistan in Faisalabad in 1983.

Swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag joined Gavaskar when he remained undefeated on 201 during the second Test against Sri Lanka at Galle in August 2008.

The ever reliable Rahul Dravid made it to this elite list in 2011 when he defied the England bowling attack with an unbeaten 146 at the Oval.
