Mumbai’s airport police station registered the case after a magistrate’s court earlier this month ordered the police to lodge an FIR under the Arms Act, a police officer said.

The FIR was registered on Tuesday evening based on directions of a magistrate’s court earlier this month. The complainant Asad Patel is a Right to Information activist. “A trishul is dangerous and could cause harm to passengers. It is among the many items banned by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security,” Patel had said in his complaint to the concerned authorities.

On August 9, 2016, Radhe Maa had travelled between Aurangabad and Mumbai by Jet Airways flight with the Trident. Patel back then had written to the police and to the airport authorities but when he did not get a positive response, he approached the court.

The police also booked other other officers from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the airlines and one of its employees. The FIR was registered on Tuesday evening.

RTI activist Asad Patel had alleged that Sukhwinder Kaur alias Radhe Maa carried a trishul on a flight while she was travelling between Aurangabad and Mumbai by Jet Airways flight in August 2015.

Last year, Radhe Maa faced a dowry harassment abetment case filed by a Mumbai resident Nikki Gupta. In addition, the self styled godwoman has also been accused of indecent behaviour by advocate Falguni Brambhatt. In her complaint, Brambhatt alleged that Radhe Maa allows her devotees to hug as well as kiss her.
