Launching a frontal attack on the NDA government over the ongoing ceasefire violations, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that nothing has changed between India and Pakistan even though Narendra Modi had assured to bring back ‘good days’ after becoming the Prime Minister.

Addressing a mammoth poll rally here, Rahul said, “He (PM Modi) said if I become the PM, China and Pakistan will be scared, good days will come.”
“During the campaigning for Lok Sabha polls, Modiji had said that Pakistan and China will be scared if he becomes the Prime Minister. Just see what is happening now,” he added.

He also attacked Modi over incursions on the India-China border, alleging that the PM did not raise the issue with the Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“When Chinese President was on a visit, Chinese forces were intruding into our territory, He didn’t ask a single question. Itihaas mein pehli baar aisa hua ki humara PM China President ke saath jhulaa jhul rha hai aur China andar ghus rha hai,” the senior Congress leader said, ANI reported.
Recalling Modi’s recent visit to the US, Gandhi alleged that the prices of 108 essential medicines had gone up and the developments in the pharmaceutical sector has benefited America, while hitting the poor in India hard.

“On a side we are giving free medicines and treatment to people, on the other side Modi ji had a meeting with American businessmen. Now the prices of 108 medicines have been hiked,” Rahul said.

Further attacking PM over using Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy, Rahul said, “Their (BJP) actions are completely opposite from Gandhi ji’s ideology, and they fold hands before Gandhi ji’s ‘Samadhi’ on 2nd October.”

“Hum Gandhi Ji ki Vichaar dhara ke aage sar jhukaate hain aur usi tarah desh bhi chalaate hain,” he added.

Taking a dig at PM Modi’s initiative to build the world’s largest statue called ‘Statue of Unity’ to mark the leagecy of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the Congress VP said, “Their (BJP’s) actions are completely different from that of Sardar Patel ji’s and they want to create his statue.”

Further listing out the priorities of Congress if it forms the government in Maharashtra, Rahul said, “In the coming days we will give 24 hours free electricity. We will give free medicines and create space for you in the hospitals and give everyone a roof to stay in Maharashtra.”

The election for 288-member Maharashtra Assembly is scheduled to take place on October 15 while the counting of votes will be held on October 19.
