Known for his controversial remarks, Unnao MP Sakshi Maharaj on Sunday said that Ram Mandir will definitely be constructed in Ayodhya during BJP government’s tenure.
Sakshi Maharaj said, “BJP par shanka nahi karni chahiye, ye nischit hai ki humaare hi shaashan mein Ram Mandir banega (There should be no doubts on BJP’s intentions. For sure, Ram Mandir will be constructed during our regime only.)
He further added, “Aaj nahi banega toh kal banega, kal nahi to parso banega. Abhi humein ek saal hua hai, chaar saal beech mein padhe hue hain (If not today then the temple will be constructed tomorrow. If not tomorrow then day after tomorrow, but it will certainly be constructed. It’s been only a year since BJP has come to power; we still have four more years.)
Maharaj, last month, had said that Ram temple was not an issue concerning the BJP, but saints like him.
“There was a Ram temple in Ayodhya and it will exist there in the future, too, and with a grand look. The work to give it a grand look will be completed by 2019, before Lok Sabha polls. It’s not an issue for BJP, but for us saints. During Ram temple movement, we asked all the political parties to support us, but only BJP supported us,” he said.
“As far as temple construction is concerned, there is Ramlalla there and will remain there. Now, no one would be allowed to keep a single stone in the name of Babri,” he had added.
