Rave party raided, over 80 arrested

A rave party being held at a resort on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway in Rajasthan was raided by the police.

82 people including 16 women were arrested in the raid that occurred on Sunday and many of the accused were caught indulging in illegal activities when the raid was performed at Udai Palace Hotel and Resort by a police team of Goverdhan Vilas Thana, Deputy SP Ranu Sharma said.

According to the police sources, most of the arrested men were Gujarati businessmen who were special invitees at the party and women majorly belonged from Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bhopal and Agra. Each woman hired through tout running sex rackets was paid between Rs 4,000 to Rs 15,000.

They allegedly found that hotel had various rates for rooms and also sent sex workers to interested customers. The police then raided the hotel late on Sunday night.

“Many of the accused were found indulging in illicit activities when the raid was conducted,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranu Sharma said.

The women had allegedly been brought from Bhopal, Delhi, Neemuch, Mumbai, Agra, and Ahmedabad, and each was paid between Rs. 4,000 and Rs. 15,000. The arrested men include marble and cloth businessmen from Gujarat and Rajasthan, the police said.

Hotel owner Pankaj Bansal managed to escape but his wife Nilima was arrested. The police have reportedly recovered a huge amount of cash from her.
