A local court has allowed CBI to conduct a polygraph test on an accused in connection with the murder case of a 17-year-old college girl in the district.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Narender Kumar has allowed the agency’s plea of conducting the polygraph test on the accused after he refused to cooperate in the case.

Accused Praveen, a former village head, has claimed that he has been falsely implicated by the victim’s family.

Riya, a student of BA, was shot dead and her father Suresh Pal injured at Mutbhar village under Bhorakala police station in the district on March 10.

The police later had registered a case against four people including the former ‘gram pradhan’ (village head) in this connection. Later a CBI inquiry was ordered into the case by the Supreme Court.

The accused then surrendered in a court and is in judicial custody.
