Robert Vadra committed no wrong, BJP can investigate if they want: Congress

VadraDownplaying allegations that favours were extended to Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra in land deals in Haryana, party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on Monday challenged the NDA government to investigate the matter.

Surjewala, while hinting at the BJP, said, “They have a government at the Centre and in Rajasthan and will soon form a government in Haryana. If they want they can investigate the matter. We will welcome their move.”

In defence of Vadra, he told that there is neither any wrongdoing, nor any favour done to any individual — which includes Robert Vadra.

Prime Minister Modi, at a pre-poll rally in Haryana, had urged the Election Commission to take appropriate action against the then Congess government in Haryana for approving land deals between Vadra and DLF.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, while alleging that the land was transferred after the Model Code of Conduct had been clamped, was quoted saying, “The Congress’ corrupt dispensation in Haryana has seen to it that a land in dispute is legitimised and handed over to none other than the ‘damaad’ (son-in-law) of the first family, the ‘damaad’ of Congress.”

In the recently held elections, the BJP won a majority on its own in the state. The party bagged 47 seats, reducing the Congress to just 15 seats.
