In a major concern for Choudhary Charan Singh Amausi airport authorities, locals staying around the area have encroached on one of the runways for their personal use.
They are using it as their defecation ground, joggers’ track. Even bikers are using it to practice bike stunts.
Every day, as many as 70 flights take off from Amausi airport which is known for VIP movements.
Even as authorities are well aware of that fact that locals have broken the boundary walls and built an unauthorised colony just beside the runway naming it Shanti Nagar, no step has been taken by airport authorities to do away with the problem.
