Virat Kohli on Friday informed cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar that he did not have it takes to play for the IPTL franchise UAE Royals.

Tendulkar, known to be a Roger Federer fan, had earlier taken to social micro-blogging site Twitter to express his desire to play for Kohli’s IPTL franchise. “Hey @imVkohli, I want to play!” Tendulkar wrote, possibly hinting at Kohli being the co-owner of International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) team UAE Royals.

Kohli didn’t take long to reply his former team-mate and batting legend.

“Not sure you have what it takes @sachin_rt paaji!” the current India Test captain replied in equal jest.

Both of course were having a bit of fun.

Many will remember, Kohli and Tendulkar were in the Royal Box during Wimbledon to watch Federer in action.

The Swiss maestro is part of the UAE Royals in the tennis tournament that was put together last year.
