Sharad Rao opposes new Motor Vehicles Bill

SharadRickshaw Union Leader Sharad Rao organized a press conference yesterday when he said that Gadkari and Modi Company are trying to windup the transport system of India by bringing their new Motor Vehicles and Road Transport (Amendment) Bill, 2014.

“BEST Undertaking is already incurring losses, and it will further increase after the introduction of this bill, it will be nearby impossible for transport systems like BEST which is providing service to nearby 10 to 15 lakh passengers of Mumbai,” he said.

He also added,”Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) which goes to every nuke of Maharashtra will also face hurdles with this bill, as people will be lured by private operators. This will also generate more unemployment to the people of Maharashtra. MSRTC provides livelihood to many people.”

“15 lakh auto drivers and 7 lakh autos will also have to bear the brunt of privatisation which will come into effect after this bill passes.”

“This is a national issue and so All India Federation of Motor Vehicle Department will also support us.”

He further said, “We will be calling every transport federation and association from all over India for a meet on this on 23rd of Nov 2014, and further we will decide on the action to be taken.”
