A Surat based diamond baron has gifted his employees brand new cars, diamond jewellery and even homes as a Diwali gift for meeting targets for the year. The diamond industry in Surat district of Gujarat may not be passing through the most dazzling phases in its history but diamond baron Palki Savjibhai Dholakia’s employees were still rewarded for their hard work.
Palki Savjibhai Dholakia, a diamond merchant based in Surat who runs Hrishikesh Exporters, showered his employees with a massive bonus. He gifted 200 workers houses, 525 have received diamond jewellery and 491 have been gifted brand new cars.
The employees of Hrishikesh Exporters are the envy of every working professional in India. Their more than generous employer has ensured that his employees have a reason to sport a huge smile.
Dholakia said he set aside Rs. 50 crore budget for these incentives. He said the idea was simply to reward employees who met the yearly targets. So 1200 employees at his company were selected and rewarded. “We decided on this programme last year itself. We rewarded 1,200 employees who achieved the given targets,” he said.
“I have received diamond jewellery as a gift from my employer,” a company employee said.
“I consider myself to be very lucky to have an employer like this, I was gifted a car,” another employee said.
The diamond trade in Gujarat is a flourishing one. Surat’s diamonds are exported across the world and now Savijbhai Dholakia has ensured that the benefits of this lucrative trade become a reality for the employees of the business.
