Dutch police evacuated a Thalys international train and part of Rotterdam station Friday after a man sealed himself in the train toilets and refused to come out.
“So far, we have no indication as to whether the man is armed,” police said, adding that a swat team was on the ground and attempting to communicate with him.
The police cleared the passengers off the train and shut down half the platforms at the busy station “as a precautionary measure.”
The Thalys train company, which operates services from Paris to Amsterdam via Brussels, said there was “no danger for our passengers.”
The incident came a month after a suspected jihadist opened fire on a Thalys train in northern France before being overwhelmed by four passengers.
