In a startling claim, an academician on Wednesday said that the Togadias within Sangh Parivar aim to derail Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s good governance agenda.

Madhu Kishwar, who has vociferously defended Modi in the past, took to microblogging website Twitter to claim that Pravin Togadia and Vishva Hindu Parishad have joined hands with Congress leaders in Gujarat and are taking revenge against Modi since he systematically marginalised them in the western state.

She further tweeted a video in defence of her claim, adding that “hate-mongering Muslim leaders lend legitimacy to Togadias”.

Notably, Kishwar’s tweets came a day after the month-long Winter Session of Parliament concluded with the Rajya Sabha losing a majority of its working days to disruption over religious conversion issue and statements by right-wing organisations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always directed his MPs to concentrate on development and good governance and not issue controversial statements.
