Top police officer allegedly caught cheating in Law exam in Kerala

A top police officer of Kerala was allegedly caught cheating during a law examination and was asked to leave the hall by the invigilator.

Inspector General, Thrissur range T J Jose, has, however, denied that he cheated.

Kerala police sources said Northern Region Additional Director General of Police Shankar Reddy will investigate the incident and have ruled out any action against the officer till a preliminary report is in.

Mr. Jose was allegedly trying to copy answers from pages torn out of a book during a Crime-II paper for the Mahatma Gandhi (MG) University LLM or Master of Law examination at St Paul’s College, Kalamasseri.

The invigilator was reportedly not aware that the person he asked to leave the examination hall was a senior IPS officer.

MG University has sought a report from the principal of St. Paul’s College, said Babu Sebastian, Vice Chancellor of MG University.

Mr. Jose will be debarred, if he is found guilty, university sources said.
