India’s World Cup winning captain MS Dhoni has called on Indian fans to fill the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday for the quarter-final clash against Bangladesh.

“The crowds in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 have been outstanding and very supportive, and we look forward to similar encouragement when the Melbourne quarter-final takes place.

“There are some excellent players on either side and I will encourage people to fill the MCG and enjoy what I think will be an excellent contest between the two subcontinent sides,” the India skipper said.

Bangladesh’s star allrounder Shakib Al Hasan is hoping there will be a strong Bangladeshi contingent in the crowd as well.

“I have played in front of large crowds before but I think this will be different in the sense that the majority will be supporting the other team. However, this will be an occasion to treasure for the fans and I would call upon every cricket follower to try and make it to the MCG on Thursday.

“It doesn’t matter if you are supporting Bangladesh or India. The atmosphere will be electric and it will be a thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone present.”

Bangladesh’s inspirational captain Masrafe Bin Mortaza says it is an occasion not to be missed. “If you are in Melbourne, then you should not miss getting a seat at the MCG on Thursday. A World Cup quarter-final doesn’t happen every day and this could be the last chance for some to become a part of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 legacy.”

“Fan support is extremely important to every team and player and I believe the Bangladesh fans will come to the game in numbers to cheer us.”
