Amidst everyday reports of sexual assaults and domestic violence, a Meerut resident bravely defended herself and her husband in front of a group of miscreants.
The incident took place at a crowded chowk in Meerut when a car driven by some boys hit a couple on a bike. As a fight between the two parties broke out, the boys started to misbehave with the woman and hit her husband.
Bystanders did little more than clicking photographs instead of lending a helping hand towards the couple. The victim however with help of her husband, somehow managed to fight back, hitting the assailants.
“I was on my way to Victoria park with my husband when some boys in car started to misbehave with us as a result of which we fell down from our bike. I reacted after they hit my husband”, said the woman.
One person has been arrested in the case. Police are on the hunt for another accused. A case was filed a beat constable who came to the spot at the time of the incident. But police has said that no eye witnesses have come forward to give testimony to the incident but investigations are underway based on the footage available on the incident.
