A 55-year-old woman working at a roadside eatery in Kasara area was allegedly gang-raped by two youths following which they were arrested, police said on Thursday.
The accused, Karloch alias Bhagwan Bhagat (22) and Rajendra Singh Thakur (23) came to the eatery at Mokhavane village on Mumbai-Nashik Highway on pretext of having food.
They called the woman, who used to wash dishes at the eatery, out of the premises saying they wanted to ask her something, sub-inspector Kamalakar G Ghosalkar said.
As the woman came out of the ‘dhabha’, the duo dragged her to an isolated place behind the eatery and took turns to rape her, he said.
The duo also threatened her of dire consequences if she reported the incident to anybody and later fled from there, said Ghosalkar.
Based on the woman’s complaint, police nabbed the duo last night and further investigations are underway in the case, he added.
