LPG cylinders blast AVIn an unfortunate incident, more than 900 cylinders stored in two trucks exploded near Chintamani in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapura district in the span of nine minutes on Sunday night.

The explosions went on for nearly three hours before the fire department successfully doused the fire. Miraculously nobody was injured.

The blast led to huge fire that engulfed two trucks and a Bolero vehicle. However, no causalities have been reported.

Though the exact reason for the blaze has not yet been ascertained, a short circuit in the battery of one of the trucks is suspected to have caused the explosion.

Police and fire department officials have arrived at the spot to take stock of the situation.
