CBSE Activates Class 12 Re-Evaluation Portal After Technical Delays and Security Review 2

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday activated its portal for Class 12 students to apply for verification of marks and re-evaluation, following multiple delays caused by technical issues and cybersecurity concerns.

Announcing the development on social media platform X, the board confirmed that the portal is now operational and advised students to carefully follow the application guidelines before submitting their requests.

“Dearest Students, The verification and re-evaluation portal is now LIVE! Please watch the video carefully for step-by-step instructions on how to apply for Verification of Marks and re-evaluation,” CBSE Headquarters posted.

The portal was initially scheduled to be launched on June 1 but its activation was postponed due to technical difficulties. The delay sparked anxiety among students and parents, particularly after reports emerged of glitches in the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.

Several students had complained that they received scanned copies of answer sheets belonging to other candidates while accessing documents through the OnMark portal. CBSE later acknowledged the issue and provided the affected students with their correct answer scripts.

The board stated that all complaints related to alleged answer-sheet mismatches and other re-evaluation concerns were being addressed on a priority basis.

Earlier, CBSE had said that vulnerabilities detected in the OnMark portal, managed by its service provider, had been contained. The board added that efforts were underway to identify and eliminate any remaining security risks to ensure a smooth and transparent process.

To further strengthen the platform, CBSE has deployed a team of cybersecurity experts from various government agencies and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The experts are working to enhance the portal’s security infrastructure and safeguard the integrity of the evaluation and re-evaluation process.

The activation of the portal comes as a relief to thousands of Class 12 students awaiting an opportunity to verify their marks and seek re-evaluation of their answer sheets.
