Trouble seems to be unending for the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi. An FIR was filed against party MLA from Tilak Nagar Jarnail Singh after he allegedly assaulted a South Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) engineer and prevented him from carrying out his official duty.
The victim, junior engineer, Azhar Mustafa, alleged that he had gone to Krishna Park area in the locality to demolish an illegal construction when the locals obstructed him from carrying out his duty.
Soon, the residents called MLA Singh to the spot. Mustafa alleged that Singh along with others prevented the MCD team from carrying out the demolition and bashed him up.
Mustafa claimed that the municipal corporation had all the necessary clearances to carry out the demolition but Singh tore up the papers when they were shown to him.
The engineer later filed an FIR against the MLA in Tilak Nagar police station.
However, Singh has rubbished the claims made by the engineer. He said that no notice was served to the owner of the property. The MLA has filed a counter complaint against the engineer, reports added.
The controversy comes at a time when another AAP MLA and state Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar is under fire over his alleged fake degrees.
The Kejriwal government, recently, also faced a lot of flak over the death of farmer Gajendra Singh during its rally in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
