Launching a scathing attack on the Omar Abdullah government, BJP President Amit Shah on Monday asked the people of Jammu and Kashmir to shun dynasty politics, adding that the BJP-led NDA government along with the Indian Army will give befitting reply to Pakistan if ceasefire is being violated.

Addressing a rally here, Shah said, “It is time to end dynastic politics in J&K. Golibari hogi toh BJP ki sarkar aur Bharat ki sena jawab zaroor degi(Befitting reply will be given if ceasefire is violated.)

“If J&K government can’t protect pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra & Kausar Nag Yatra, doesn’t have to right to stay in power for even a minute,” he added.

Ahead of J&K Assembly polls, Shah today sought to woo the people of Jammu, saying the party will help the region get justice as it has been given “step-motherly” treatment by governments during the last 60 years.

“From J&K to Kanyakumari, from Assam to Gujarat, people of the nation & also the BJP workers are with the people of J&K,” Shah further said, ANI reported.

Further taking on the Omar government, Shah said, “It was Omar’s duty to meet people displaced due to Pakistan shelling. Why didn’t he meet affected people rather than adding insult to injury.”

Yesterday, Omar had expressed hope that the Centre would reconsider its decision of cancelling talks with Pakistan in order to end the border hostilities.

However, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy today slammed Omar’s remark saying that Pakistan will have to pay for the humiliating and bleeding Indian soldiers.

India had called off Foreign Secretary level talks with Pakistan after Islamabad’s envoy to New Delhi Abdul Basit went ahead with meetings with separatist leaders from Kashmir even after he was asked by the Centre to desist from it.

Further in the rally here today, Shah said he has come here with a message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who wishes to usher in development in the state for it move along with the country on the path of speedy progress.

“For 60 years the people of the Jammu region have been facing injustice. The BJP government will help get justice for Jammu, as the various governments have meted out step-motherly treatment to the region,” Shah reiterated.

Hitting out at dynastic politics, he said, “BJP is fighting to make ‘Congress-mukt bharat’ (Congress free India) and Jammu and Kashmir is also part of the country.
