Anjali Damania Vs Sanjeev Chadda – The Ongoing Saga As Explained By Anjali Damania

Since 11th April 1991, Anjali Damania has been a tenant in this place called Kish-Ish Kunj, which is in Santacruz East. The owner Kishan Sapra who considered her his daughter gave this place to Anjali Damania. In 1990 there was a garage in the residential building that belongs to Sone Sabra who is a very close friend of Anjali. The said place was given to Anjali to start a Biology Laboratory this was on 11th April 1991, a year before she got married this lab went on till 30th September 2020. In 2020 she was working on a farmer’s issue that she thought she could do a lot of work upon of making pesticide-free vegetables. Meanwhile, Kishan Sabra died a couple of years ago and at that time he was in Singapore. In 2009 when he had an issue with his Kidneys his son who was living in the UK took him there to Singapore and started living with him. In the meantime, what happened was they had some family matters the sister-in-law and this Azalea Holiday Inn Private Limited’s owner Sanjeev Chadda, broke open the place started running a completely illegal hotel in that residential premises, without any permission or license.

Sanjeev Chadda is a bodybuilder and by profession a builder too. He hired a lot of bouncers and parked them in the building and every morning they use to harass residents with those bouncers. One day overnight he put six cameras facing Anjali Damania’s office and put up a microphone audio device just outside her office. Whereas Anjali has the authority and as a CO-owner have the power of attorney to living in that premises and the place is not illegally occupied as stated in the media headlines. Unfortunately, no media house felt like verifying the facts before publishing the news because Metropolitan Magistrate Jaydeo Y Ghule issued the orders against the complaint. Whereas there is no issue of any illegal occupation, rather she has the authority.

In regard to an FIR filed against her at Vakola police station, Anjali says, as Chadda had put microphones outside her office, Anjali often went to Vakola police station ACP DCP several times told Vakola police that an installation of microphone devices at the office amounts to stalking. As per the new amendments under section 354D one must file FIR as a legal process if someone is stalking. Any man who follows a woman and contacts or monitors the use by a woman of the internet, email, or any other form of electronic communication, commits the offense of stalking. Anjali had every right to approach legal authorities and inform them about her right to privacy. As Anjali got those cameras and microphone devices removed in the presence of two BMC officials and several police personals. Realizing that Anjali will take action, within few hours they re-filed a cross FIR against her.

The whole Santacruz building has been illegally occupied and made into a hotel space and the fact is this cannot happen without the support and approval of BMC and police. This proves as a political Vendetta Sanjeev Chadda wrote letters to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and in cc, he marked mails to Eknath Khadse, Nitin Gadkari, and those whom she exposed time and again.

Well, let us get in the little background to understand what the issue is all about, Kish-Ish Kunj stands for Kishan Sabra & Ishwar Sabra who are brothers. Kishan Sapra was a very well-to-do businessman, thorough gentlemen, and father figure. Ishwar Sabra was the black sheep of the family and was not doing great in his business so Kishan Sapra always helped his brother Ishwar sabra tide through the different crises. Ishwar Sapra and his wife were Mohini Sapra always took advantage of the family bond.

Kishan Sapra has two kids, Prakash and Sone Shamdasani. Sone and Anjali were friends from 1990. In 2009, Kishan Sapra was diagnosed with a kidney issue. His children were married, Son was living in the UK and his daughter was living in Singapore. Kishan Sapra could not tolerate the UK’s harsh winters, Prakash and his family moved to Singapore and from the year 2009, the Kish-Ish Kunj building was shut. As Kishan Sapra was on alternate day dialysis, Prakash could not leave him of which they could not come to India. Now let’s come to Ishwar and Mohini Sapra they have one son Pratap. Ishwar is failed businessman and several times declared bankruptcy in the US. Out of duty and family bonding and affection, Mohini & Pratap were always supported the Kishan Chabra family.

Mohini Sapra submitted a letter in the UAE embassy that dues to the money that the Kishan Sapra family have given to her, she relinquished her rights to Kishan Sapra in 2009. In 2013 Mohini and her son brought Sanjeev Chaddha to Kish-Ish Kunj and they broke open the lock of the building in front of Anjali, went inside, and took possession of that building. Anjali always told Prakash to take action. Prakash said all documents are in his father’s name. Taking care of his ailing father was a priority for him that is the reason he was not in the position to leave him behind to come to fight this matter in India. He was confident that the documents were in his name these false claims would not hold ground.

Meanwhile, Mohini Sapra gave tenancy to Chadda in November 2013, made a conveyance deed of 5Lac rupees, and 50% of the shares that belonged to her husband sold them. The question arises, if 50%percent shares have been sold then how come they are having 100% Occupancy of that place?

To date electricity bills and property card, Municipal Assessment all in the name of Kishan Sapra. Property tax pending today is 1cr 32lacs that is not paid yet.

MBC Commissioner Alka Sasane when questioned on property tax, no action taken. According to BMC papers Gym & Hotels have no valid license… then how are they being allowed to function?

Meanwhile, Chaddha sends a local BMC corporator Hetal Gala of BJP through a mutual friend Rupal Jain to Anjali’s house and try to buy her part of the property garage. Anjali then explains the background to her and Hetal Gala apologize and left that she did not know about this matter. Chaddha connected to Anjali on WhatsApp & she agreed to meet him provided it was general talks and if the conversation about Kish-Ish Kunj, then Prakash and his family need to be involved in whatever you need to discuss please speak to them. He connected to Prakash once in a while.

Meanwhile, a lot of debris was dumped outside her office just before the inauguration of her agriculture products, Alka Sasane was informed about it, to handle both sides of the matter she got the debris cleared using JCB bulldozers. Chadda filed a case in Mumbai High Court that Mumbai police and BMC are working like goons of Anjali Damania and they damaged the mattresses of his hotel during the clearing.

Once Anjali reached back to the premises after Covid lockdown she saw that the bathroom had been blocked and Water Line had been disconnected. This is the general process of Builders harassing the tenants directly vacated all 5 tenants in that building.
