All lease details, including period of lease, payable rent, additional charges, arrears, term and conditions of lease will be displayed on the website. This information was revealed in a query filed by RTI activist Anil Galgali.
In an RTI application Galgali had asked details of yearly rent, arrears and lease conditions. BMC Estate Department Administrative officer and Public Information Commissioner of Estate department A.B. Kadam informed Galgali that the civic body earns Rs 18,26,32,000 as yearly rent from its properties in Mumbai. Till date BMC collected Rs. 11,22,12,677 rent during year 2015-2016 which was generated through SAP. BMC’s website displays only name of the lessee and the rent amount since 2014.
