Welcoming the demonetisation decision, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Narendranand Saraswati of Kashi Sumeru Pithadhiswar expressed serious concern over the disruption of Parliament by “a section of MPs”.

“What stops the government from taking any action on them. Why can’t marshals be used to remove them (those MPs disrupting Parliament) out,” he questioned.

“Those who disrupt the Parliament should not be paid salary. Allowances of those who disrupt the Parliament should be cut during the period they disrupt the house and do not allow it to function,” he said.

The pontiff addressed the devotees at the Siddheshwar temple at Manorama Nagar where a 45-day-yagna is in progress.
