Fadnavis urges MPAs new trainee PSIs to accept new challenges

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed the passing out parade of 749 trainee Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) of the 113rd batch of Maharashtra Police Academy (MPA) and exhorted the alumni to accept new challenges.

Fadnavis, who was the chief guest at the function held this morning, urged that the trainee PSIs, who are now inducted into the police force, should accept new challenges such as cyber crime, naxalite activities, investment scams among others and handle them properly.

Noting that the alumni included 246 females, the Chief Minister lauded the role of women trainee cadets and honoured Meena Bhimsingh Tupe, hailing from Marathwadas Beed district, who was adjudged the best trainee of the batch and presented with the prestigious Sword of Honour.

The award for the second best trainee cadet was conferred upon Pradeep Vinayak Lad, hailing from Sangli district, by Fadnavis, who also honoured 10 other cadets who performed well in different subjects.

The Chief Minister, referring to martyred constable Tukaram Ombale, said, “A constable-level policeman was able to combat the lone terrorist captured alive involved in the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, Ajmal Kasab.”

He asked the new recruits to maintain discipline and transparency in the force and keep up the name of the police.

Later, the Chief Minister declared open the E-learning academy at Maharashtra Police Academy, for training of over 21,000 police officers of the state, which has been equipped with new complexes for reading room, computer rooms, and other facilities.

Maharashtra Minister of State for Home (Rural) Ram Shinde, Minister of State for Home (Urban) Dr Ranjit Patil, state Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, state Director General of Police (DGP) Praveen Dixit, Maharashtra Police Academy director Naval Bajaj, besides several MPs, MLAs and prominent personalities were present on the occasion.
