“A major road that is a vital link to connect with the Gorai crematorium ground, was a nightmare for the residents especially women, as it was under terror dark for a long time,” expressed Shiva Shetty, who has taken initiative to lighten up Gorai’s lane number 46, relieving thousands of travellers and residents, who use it every day, from the chaos.
Former Congress corporator Shiva Shetty has managed to install 12 street lights in both the sides of Gorai lane number 46 after his months of struggle with Reliance South division to execute the project.
“It’s a very long time this road lacked street lights. The road was hard to cross for women and motorists as cases of robbery were an everyday affair there. Criminals used to loot people taking advantage of the darkness. As this road connects the crematorium ground of that area, it was also hard for people who want to reach the ground late at night,” he further added.
