Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday stated that income tax rates will not be raised for funding the Nyay minimum income scheme. The opposition party has said that it will offer Rs 72000 as minimum income to support poor families benefiting around 25,000 crore.
“Money won’t be raised from the middle class and income tax rates won’t be increased,” Gandhi said when asked how funds will be raised for Nyuntam Aay Yojana (Nyay) scheme.
Rahul said that Congress manifesto was finalized after seeking suggestions from all sections of the society including farmers and poor persons.
“The Congress poll manifesto was prepared after speaking to all stakeholders.”
Rahul also promised to grant 33 per cent reservation for women in parliament.
