In a rare medical condition, a child born with three legs in Bhopal’s Indira Gandhi Women and Child Hospital is fighting for life in Hamidiya hospital.

The new-born child has a third leg grown near his shoulders.

“Gandhi Nagar’s resident Priti gave birth to two sons at 4:00 am. While one was born normal, the other one is suffering from a rare medical condition,” confirmed Dr. Rajesh Tikkas, Assistant professor, Pediatric department, Gandhi Medical college.
Looking at the sensitivity of the case, doctors shifted the child to Hamidiya hospital at noon. He is admitted in SNCU in Hamidiya hospital and is said to be in critical condition.

Trying to explain the complexity of the case, Dr. Rajesh Tikkas said, “It seems that there was a third child in Priti’s womb, but its part couldn’t grow well. So some of the parts which were developed got attached to the other child and hence, he was born with extraordinary complications.”
