Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Monday that his government is actively considering a liquor ban in religious cities to preserve their sanctity.
Addressing concerns raised by saints and residents, Yadav acknowledged that complaints about the negative impact of liquor sales and consumption on the environment in these sacred areas have been mounting.
“The state government is seriously evaluating the suggestions from saints and plans to enhance the policy to implement a liquor ban in religious cities,” Yadav said.
He assured that a decision would be made soon and concrete steps taken to ensure the spiritual atmosphere of these cities remains undisturbed.
