Kishor Darade of the Shiv Sena secured a significant victory in the Nashik Teachers constituency during the recent biennial elections to the Maharashtra legislative council.
The final result was declared after midnight on Tuesday, confirming Darade’s win over closest competitor Vivek Kolhe, an independent candidate.
Darade successfully met the necessary vote quota out of the 63,151 valid ballots cast, as confirmed by an election official. While results for other constituencies were declared earlier, the Nashik Teachers seat result came out later. Notably, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Parab and JM Abhyankar also secured wins in their respective constituencies.
