Maharashtra Receives Rs 6,418 Crore Tax Devolution from Centre Ahead of Festive Season 2

Maharashtra has received an advance instalment of ₹6,418 crore from the Central government as part of tax devolution ahead of the festive season, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Thursday.

The Union government on Wednesday announced the release of an additional tax devolution of ₹1,01,603 crore to states, aimed at accelerating capital expenditure and supporting welfare-related spending. This is in addition to the regular monthly devolution of ₹81,735 crore scheduled for October 10.

Pawar, who also holds the finance and planning portfolio, said the allocation would help Maharashtra scale up development and welfare schemes. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the timely release of funds.

“With the festival season approaching, this amount will help the state boost capital expenditure and ensure adequate support for welfare and development initiatives,” Pawar said.
