Major fire breaks out at Sai Baba temple in Kandivali; 2 killed, 1 severely hurt

In the wee hours of Sunday morning a massive fire broke out inside a temple in Mumbai’s Kandivali area, claiming the lives of two persons, while severely injuring one. As per the official, the fire took place in Sai Baba Temple at Bandar Pakhadi Road in Charkop between 4 to 4:30 am.

Reportedly, the fire was doused by the official within a few minutes. Speaking on the same an official from the Mumbai fire brigade informed that the fire was reported at 4.14 am and was doused by 4.39 am.

The two who have been killed in this fire identified as Subhash Khode (25) and Yuvaraj Pawar (25). While Mannu Gupta (26) who was rescued by the officers suffered 90-95% burns in the incident has now shifted to Sion Hospital for treatment. His condition is said to be critical.

One of the officers from the fire department stated that all the three victims used to take shelter at the temple during the night and were trapped in the fire. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. More details are awaited.
