A 28-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man in Titwala area.
The incident took place on June 12 when the victim had gone to a friend’s place to attend a birthday party, sub- inspector P R Patil of Kalyan Taluka police station said.
One of a guests at the party in the wee hours forcibly took the woman inside the room and allegedly raped her, the complaint stated.
An offence under section 376 (rape) of IPC was registered against the accused with the Kopri police station. The case was later transferred to Kalyan taluka police station.
