A 34-year-old man was arrested from Malwani area for allegedly possessing a country-made pistol, police said.
The accused, identified as Mukhtar Ahmed Rajjuddin Shaikh, was arrested on Saturday and a country-made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from him, an official of Malwani police station said.
A case under sections three and 25 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused who was produced in a local court which remanded him to police custody till April 13, he said.
According to police Shaikh already has seven cases registered against him.
